Statement of Primary Purpose
Assist college personnel in the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment for institutional and instructional use, process requisitions, prepare purchase orders, check invoices and receiving papers against purchase orders, and identify any discrepancies before forwarding approved documentation to accounts payable office for payment. Responsible for coordinating internal supply and inventory audit.

Full-time; Exempt Staff; Program Administrator

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Advise employees in selection and procurement of supplies, material, and equipment in accordance with college policy and state purchasing guidelines
• Assist employees with research and information to determine if items are on state contract; assist with vendor information, commodity numbers, and related information
• Review requisitions for accuracy and completeness; check general ledger codes for correctness
• Set-up and maintain vendor records and files
• Maintain inventory system for major equipment
• Responsible for Historically Underutilized Business reporting
• Responsible for required capital purchases reporting and assists in capital projects administration
• Train college employees on use of E-Procurement system
• Responsible for supervision of shipping/receiving clerk and courier
• Serves as purchasing card administrator

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Disburse information concerning purchasing guidelines
• Physical inventory audit requiring lifting and moving of objects
• Occasional travel required to attend training and related conferences
• Serve on College committees as assigned
• Other duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor' or Master's degree in business or related field

Knowledge and Skills
Two years of business related experience

Physical Demands
Lifting and mobility required to conduct inventory audit

Licensing Requirement
Valid NC Driver's License

Office environment

Equipment Operation
Computer; Office Equipment
